This new building, located in the industrial district of Gatineau, was designed to house the manufacturing plant as well as the offices of Marc Marine Welding. The exterior concept highlights steel in several forms such as corten steel that accents the main entrance and the factory, the enhancement of the curtain walls with tiles thanks to metallic folds as well as the corrugated steel that adds character to the building with its color contrast.
The interior spaces inspired by the industrial style echo the raw materials of the building such as concrete and steel, with touches of wood punctuating the space, creating an inviting and warm atmosphere. The bistro and relaxation area features a brick wall as well as a large leather bench that can accommodate the participants during gatherings. Steel in various forms was highlighted to demonstrate the client’s expertise in making many custom elements such as office partitions, suspended lighting structures, waiting area chairs, bookcases and more. Yellow is omnipresent to recall the company’s trademark.
