Our services were retained by the Centre de services scolaires au Cœur-des-Vallées for the redevelopment of the playground at École Sacré-Cœur in Plaisance.
The project consisted in upgrading the play areas to ensure proper safety clearances between the various structures. To achieve this objective, certain play areas had to be relocated, and the damping zone enlarged and transformed. Our team proposed a mulch surface instead of sand to reduce abrasion of the school’s indoor floors by students’ shoes.
Since the project also included the improvement of the playground, new structures were installed, as well as a sandbox. A review of the drainage system and repairs to the curbs and asphalt surface adjacent to the school and courtyard resulted in a more accessible pathway designed to reflect the reality of the site.
Finally, as budget was limited but requirements important, we had to align the client’s vision with the available budget, focusing specifically on priorities.
