Based on a partnership between the Municipality of Papineauville and École Saint-Pie X, the project consisted in redesigning the schoolyard to increase the variety of play structures in the area.
The new structures were selected by the client. Afterwards, we conducted meetings with the project’s stakeholders, to ensure that these additions would be well integrated into the schoolyard’s existing functionality.
As the schoolyard was more spacious than the adjacent municipal park, new play structures were added to the site, including a bamboo structure and a hebertism course. To bring the playground up to current standards, obsolete structures were removed and the shock absorbing surface redone, while respecting the required spacings. Choosing the neighboring park also allowed us to maximize the space available for new elements to be added in later phases of the project.
