The Commission scolaire des Portages-de-l’Outaouais has invested $3.2 million to expand the Vallée-des-Voyageurs school. This project, which represented a total area of 1,400 square meters, was completed jointly by A4 Architecture + Design and TLA Architects. A new wing was built and connected to the existing structure by an enclosed glass walkway with red accents. The design of this pavilion incorporated several environmental initiatives and included the development of numerous classrooms and kindergarten rooms, a daycare facility, a library, a computer room and service areas. The existing building was also given special care as the entire site was redesigned, along with certain areas of the school, to create an inviting and engaging learning environment.
