The project consisted in the construction of a new recreational vehicle dealership located in Rockland, Ontario. The ground-floor program included a showroom, sales offices, accessory store, repair garage, kitchen and washrooms. Administrative offices were located on the mezzanine, and the second floor was dedicated to storage space.

Falk Panels insulated prefabricated panels combined to a Norsteel Buildings structure were selected for this project. Although the envelope was designed by A4, extensive coordination with the precast team was essential. Adding floors, a mezzanine, and a partial story presented a challenge to the team, although it was achieved through the collaboration of all parties involved, including the engineers and the general contractor.

Prefabricated solutions often restrain the shape of buildings; however, our team made sure to dynamize it while taking advantage of such a design approach, including providing abundant natural lighting through the multiple windows. The preferred concept exposes the steel structure as well as the mechanical and electrical systems. This industrial style highlights the building’s functionality, which suits this dealer’s offering.
